Arts & Literacy Students will benefit from well-developed interpersonal and written communication skills. General business knowledge and/or experience is an asset.
Math & Science Fundamentals of business math, statistics and/or analytics is an asset.
Technology Basic computer skills (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, email, internet) are required. Experience working with any business systems (AIS, ERP, BI, CMS, WMS, CRM) is an asset.
* Practical Elements Students are expected to work in teams to complete many assignments in this program. Students will participate in onsite observations, develop business cases sourced from organizational data and learn business software including Tableau. Students will complete a relevant, paid co-op placement.

- Prior business experience is beneficial. This includes Information Technology, Finance, Supply Chain, Logistics, Warehouse Management, Marketing, Product Development and/or Project Management. Specific experience in Business Analysis is an asset.
What kind of work could I do when I graduate?
Graduates of this program may go on to become an
Entry-to-intermediate level roles as a Business Analyst, Systems Analyst, Business Planning Analyst, Product Owner, Project Manager.
Typical working conditions for this kind of work:
Predominately office and technology-based. Business Analysts work in all industries and therefore could find themselves in a variety of different work environments including outside, industrial, retail or manufacturing.
Places you may find yourself employed include
Graduates may find themselves working in the IT department of an organization or embedded within functional teams (Supply Chain, Finance, Customer Service, Product Development, Marketing etc.)
Tasks a graduate may do in the workplace
- Develop new or improve existing business processes such as gap analysis or process design.
- Develop and document business processes and business models.
- Plan, manage and facilitate requirements gathering activities to define, manage, and implement the product or process.
- Develop strategies to bridge gaps between requirements and existing systems.
- Communicate technical and business information to all stakeholders to ensure a clear understanding of system requirements.
- Collaborate and network with stakeholders ethically to evaluate and align business processes and business models with the strategic objectives of the organization.
