Pre-Media PMD


Moderate Workload

  • Six courses in the first semester
  • One hours of study/assignments required for each hour in class
  • 16 hours of class (32 hour/week commitment)
  • It is expected that you will participate in out of class activities.

What academic skills do I need to be successful in the program?

Arts & Literacy High school courses in communications technology, English, writing, music and drama would be beneficial.

Math & Science While not mandatory, Grade 12 math and science would be beneficial.

Technology Computer skills in either PC or iMac, proficiency in Adobe Audition would be beneficial.

As Pre-Media is an entry-level media program, a pathway is created to Fanshawe's full-time media programs that include Interactive Media, Game Development, Television & Film, Broadcast Radio & Media Production, Broadcast Journalism, Photography and Public Relations. Employment opportunities arise immediately upon graduation in creative and technical support roles.

The media industry often requires employees to work in studios, online, on sets, in offices, and not necessarily during traditional (regular) business hours.
