- Applicants are required to be graduates of a college diploma or degree program.

General Manager at Retirement Residence, Quality Assurance Inspector with the Retirement Homes Regulatory Authority, or work in Sales and Marketing in the Retirement Industry.

- Generally work in an indoor office environment
- Hours vary – shift work, holiday, weekend work
Tasks a graduate may do in the workplace
- Develop, implement and evaluate policies and procedures for the operation of the department or establishment
- Prepare budgets and monitor revenues and expenses
- Participate in the development of pricing and promotional strategies
- Negotiate with suppliers for the provision of materials and supplies
- Negotiate with clients for the use of facilities
- Direct and coordinate the activities of staff and evaluate their performance.
- Resolve customer complaints
- Maintain legislation via quality assurance activities such as auditing
